This house has an approximate floor area of 140 sq.mts.
The design is based on the Oast House shape from Jenkinstown park, Kilkenny. The circle is the most natural shape in the Universe and living within this shape ties one in more with natural harmonies. This shaped house also has the advantage of extracting more from the available sunlight. It is a house designed to face Southwards to extract most from the passive energy resources and having a balcony around it's southern circumference. Because it is more difficult to extract the most from available space within a circle, the main concentration on design was to limit the size of hallways, stairs etc., while still making what one might describe as a more exaggerated feature of these areas. The house is designed to obtain maximum light and heat in the kitchen from early morning and finishing the day in the same fashion in the living area. All rooms in this house have access to Southern light.
